As Gipson loses custody of his kids, he decides to ruin the well-groomed attorney's life by refusing to give him back his paper. In 1896, a construction engineer from the British Army, J.H. Patterson (Kilmer) is sent to build a railway bridge across Uganda's Tsavo River for the British East African Railway. Soon after he arrives, workmen begin to disappear at night from their tents - never to be seen alive again. The engineer soon discovers that a pair of man-eating lions are stalking around the bridge and campsites, killing the workmen for food. He tries a number of different methods to get rid of them, but the beasts always seem to know what Patterson is doing and avoid being shot. After 30 men have been killed Patterson's boss recruits a hunter, Charles Remington (Douglas) to hunt down and destroy the lions. But the lions continue killing the workmen until they flee the camps, jumping onto the train as it rolls through Tsavo. Now Remington, Patterson & his aide (John Kani) must face these brilliant yet frightening monsters alone. |

Sylvia Broome (Nicole Kidman) is an interpreter. She is an expert in the obscure language of Ku, a dialect of the African Matobo, her homeland. Unintentionally she overhears a talk on Ku, where the deadly plot against the country ruler was mentioned. Realizing she's become a target of the assassins as well, Silvia is desperate to thwart the plot... if only she can survive long enough to get someone to believe her. Secret Service agent Tobin Keller (Sean Penn) is brought in to investigate Broome's story, and it isn't long before he's convinced that she knows more than she's willing to tell. Keller has his doubts. Is Silvia a witness or is she somehow connected to the threat against the African head of state? "The Interpreter" is a cat and mouse game with a few of the involved parties appearing to change sides throughout the process. Sometimes you should pay close attention in order to keep up with the plot (you can miss a key detail being away for a tea watching this film). |

Since childhood ambitious Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) has been mad about auto racing, dreaming of following his father's (Gary Cole) steps and becoming a pro. He makes the first step to his dream and starts working on a pit crew as a jackman for a race team. One day he is lucky to replace Terry Cheveaux (Adam McKay) who is only an apology for a driver and ends up finishing third despite starting mid-race in last place. Ricky soon becomes the best NASCAR driver, around whom reporters and girl fans always swarm. He and his stalwart childhood friend, racing partner Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly) always finish races in the No. 1 and No. 2 positions; he has his trophy wife Carley (Leslie Bibb), two kids and fat cat accounts in the bank. It goes on like this, until a pretentious Formula One driver Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen) challenges Ricky and outperforms him on the track. The ex-champion finds himself in a hospital bed instead of a pedestal. Doctors prohibit him from dreaming of his comeback on track but despite everything Ricky gets back into racing and makes it hot for Jean Girard.

This movie is based on the real events that took place at the Sioux Indians' reservation. A young FBI agent is ordered to conduct investigation of the murders which shook the local Indian population. His veins contain Indian blood, so the mission becomes a point of honor for Val Kilmer's character, to some extent. From Washington, what happened seems apparent, but at the place the things seem inexplicable and even mystic. Here, at the reservation, the legendary agent Cuttell (Pullman) already works, and it gradually becomes apparent that the uranium field can be the important clue to the crimes. Unfortunately, the history knows many examples when fighters for the truth was killed and then declared guilty. |

Norman Spencer (Harrison Ford), a renowned university research scientist, and his wife, Claire (Michelle Pfeiffer), a retired concert cellist, are a seemingly happily married couple. Their family life runs smoothly until Claire's daughter, Caitlin (Katharine Towne) goes off to college and the Spencers move into a lakeside house in Vermont that once belonged to Norman's father. Their new neighbors, Mary (Miranda Otto) and Warren Feur (James Remar), always make quarrels. One rainy night Claire sees Warren taking a carpet out of the house and putting it in the trunk of his car. When Mary abruptly disappears, Claire realizes that these two events are closely related to each other and begins seeing spectral images and hearing mysterious voices everywhere. At first she thinks it is her neighbor's wraith which is haunting her, but Mary then turns up alive. However, a mysterious woman's ghost keeps haunting Claire, and Norman suspects that his frightened wife experiences hallucinations as a consequence of an accident when Claire's car smashed into a tree a year ago. But the ghost (Amber Valletta) soon tells Claire a dreadful secret which is being carefully kept by her husband. |
