Sylvia Broome (Nicole Kidman) is an interpreter. She is an expert in the obscure language of Ku, a dialect of the African Matobo, her homeland. Realizing she's become a target of the assassins as well, Silvia is desperate to thwart the plot... if only she can survive long enough to get someone to believe her. Secret Service agent Tobin Keller (Sean Penn) is brought in to investigate Broome's story, and it isn't long before he's convinced that she knows more than she's willing to tell. Keller has his doubts. Is Silvia a witness or is she somehow connected to the threat against the African head of state? "The Interpreter" is a cat and mouse game with a few of the involved parties appearing to change sides throughout the process. Sometimes you should pay close attention in order to keep up with the plot (you can miss a key detail being away for a tea watching this film). |

In 1896, a construction engineer from the British Army, J.H. Patterson (Kilmer) is sent to build a railway bridge across Uganda's Tsavo River for the British East African Railway. Soon after he arrives, workmen begin to disappear at night from their tents - never to be seen alive again. The engineer soon discovers that a pair of man-eating lions are stalking around the bridge and campsites, killing the workmen for food. He tries a number of different methods to get rid of them, but the beasts always seem to know what Patterson is doing and avoid being shot. After 30 men have been killed Patterson's boss recruits a hunter, Charles Remington (Douglas) to hunt down and destroy the lions. But the lions continue killing the workmen until they flee the camps, jumping onto the train as it rolls through Tsavo. Now Remington, Patterson & his aide (John Kani) must face these brilliant yet frightening monsters alone. |

Norman Spencer (Harrison Ford), a renowned university research scientist, and his wife, Claire (Michelle Pfeiffer), a retired concert cellist, are a seemingly happily married couple. However, a mysterious woman's ghost keeps haunting Claire, and Norman suspects that his frightened wife experiences hallucinations as a consequence of an accident when Claire's car smashed into a tree a year ago. But the ghost (Amber Valletta) soon tells Claire a dreadful secret which is being carefully kept by her husband. |

Marie Antoinette braved the French Revolution and bore herself with dignity. Her close connections with Austria and support for a foreign intervention were so apparent that she was stripped of her riches, imprisoned and sentenced to death. Various attempts to get her out failed. On October 16, 1793, Marie Antoinette was charged with treason and espionage for other countries, and was executed by guillotine. |

Our guys - the bachelor and the family man - should trade places to succeed: to save the seductive witness and to catch the offenders.

Mort Rainey's (Johnny Depp) life is getting worse gradually in this adaptation of Stephen King's novella. Mort is a recently divorced writer who decides to take some time off at his cottage. His lack of energy and creativity left him incapable of even stringing a simple sentence together notwithstanding the former success. In addition, Mort finds himself beleaguered by a psychotic stranger (John Turturro) who claims Rainey plagiarized his story idea and demands satisfaction. Though Rainey claims he's done nothing wrong, the stranger isn't pacified, instead growing more and more threatening. As Mort's wife (Maria Bello) pushes him to complete their separation and Shooter methodically destroys his life, he struggles to restore order to an increasingly insane situation. When Shooter's demands turn to murder Rainey involves in a private detective (Timothy Hutton) for help. But the horror spirals out of control on and on, Mort soon discovers he can't trust anyone or anything. The ending of this psychological thriller is really shocking and horrifying as the writer of "Panic Room", David Koepp, and Johnny Depp, 2003 Best Actor (Pirates of the Caribbean) do their best. |

Pierce Brosnan incarnates the Superspy again after his successful debut as Bond in "007: The Golden Eye"; the movie "Tomorrow never dies" keeps the tradition of involving the most intricate spy gadjets and contemporary defense technologies along with the most beautiful actresses participation (in this series, action star Michelle Yeoh, who has the "Miss Malaysia" title). Bond is to prevent the Third World War which looms closer and closer as Carver weaves his devilish plot to embroil the world's superpowers with each other using PR technologies and crimninal talents of his ally called Mr. Stamper (Gotz Otto).
The soundtrack of "Tomorrow Never Dies" is the song of the same name, brilliantly performed by Sheryl Crow, who also is an author of this heartfelt hit.
