Shortly after the party ran into exploring Vikings and befriended them, a young boy reaches the camp to call the warriors home: The Wendol, creatures of the Mist, have started attacking their homeland, killing and eating everyone in their way. The oracle forces a thirteenth warrior to accompany the Vikings, but this must not be a man from the north. Ahmad Ibn Fadlan, who quickly is nicknamed Eban, first does not feel comfortable with the strange men of the north, but when he finds out that the Wendol really exist, he bravely fights alongside the Vikings in a battle that can't be won. |

In the 15th century, France was entangled in the Hundred Years' War with England. When the country seemed to be threatened with its inevitable downfall, Joan of Arc (Milla Jovovich), a 17-year-old illiterate peasant girl, appeared at the court of the French Dauphin, Charles (John Malkovich). She claimed that she had been instructed by the Lord to lead troops into a holy battle and defend their land against the aggressors. Inspired by the charismatic, self-confident, strong and fearless maiden, warriors won a victory over the English at Orleans. A year later, Joan was captured by the Burgundian and sold to their allies, the English, who tried her for heresy and burnt alive at the stake. In 1456, she was pronounced innocent. In 1920, Joan of Arc was declared a national heroine and canonized a saint. |

Earl Partridge (the late Jason Robards) produced "WDKK" when it was first on in the late 60s. Linda, Earl's trophy wife (Julianne Moore) starts to fall in love with Earl for real, despite her cheating. Earl, rapidly dying on his bed, asks Phil to find his estranged son, Frank T.J. Mackey (Tom Cruise), who grew up hating Earl and now runs a seminar for single men, which teaches them how to seduce a woman and leave her... The host of "WDKK", Jimmy Gator (Philip Baker Hall), is also dying, but not as rapidly as Earl. Reilly) goes to Claudia's house after getting called about a disturbance. He falls in love with her right away... Stanley Specter (Jeremy Blackman) is a contestant on "WDKK", who is a genius and is being used by his father to make money. If Stanley and his team keep winning, they will set a record on the show and get tons of money. The record Stanley is trying to beat is the 1968 record set by Donnie Smith (William H. Macy), who had the exact same childhood when he was on the show and has now grown up to be a pathetic loser. He's been recently fired from his job, and is trying to find his way into happiness... |
