Bond's new foe is Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce), just another super-villain craving for the domination over the world; he is to be defeated by the valiant Agent 007. Carver is a powerful media-tycoon who never has to search for the news because he always used to make them. Pierce Brosnan incarnates the Superspy again after his successful debut as Bond in "007: The Golden Eye"; the movie "Tomorrow never dies" keeps the tradition of involving the most intricate spy gadjets and contemporary defense technologies along with the most beautiful actresses participation (in this series, action star Michelle Yeoh, who has the "Miss Malaysia" title). Bond is to prevent the Third World War which looms closer and closer as Carver weaves his devilish plot to embroil the world's superpowers with each other using PR technologies and crimninal talents of his ally called Mr. Stamper (Gotz Otto).
The soundtrack of "Tomorrow Never Dies" is the song of the same name, brilliantly performed by Sheryl Crow, who also is an author of this heartfelt hit.

Going underground, he assumes the identity of Jerome, crippled in an accident, and achieves prominence in the Gattaca Corporation, where he is selected for his lifelong desire: a manned mission to Saturn. Constantly passing gene tests by diligently using samples of Jerome's hair, skin, blood and urine, his now-perfect world is thrown into increasing desperation, his dream within reach, when the mission director is killed - and he carelessly loses an eyelash at the scene! Certain that they know the murderer's ID, but unable to track down the former Vincent, the police start to close in, with extra searches, and new gene tests. With the once-in-a-lifetime launch only days away, Vincent must avoid arousing suspicion, while passing the tests, evading the police, and not knowing whom he can trust... |

The movie follows the ancient Greek names, thus it is irrelevant to use the Roman name Ulysses. Generally, it was poorly written. Homer's classic epic poem about the hero, Odysseus, and his travels home after the infamous ten year battle of Troy, is brought to the silver screen. The gods seize the opportunity to make Odysseus and his crew the pawns in their games; forcing Odysseus to take unbelievable detours that add years to his journey home. These detours throw him into conflict with great mythological creatures like Circe, the Cyclops, and Poseidon, and ultimately bring him into Hades itself. Meanwhile, Odysseus' wife, Penelope, worries that her husband is dead and is forced to fight off suitors who want to claim his kingdom. Through all of this Odysseus must keep faith and fight to find his way back home, with only the aid of the goddess Athena. |
