The family of Gordy Brewer perished when the US consulate was blown by a terrorist bomb thrown at the command of Claudio "The Wolf" Perrini (Cliff Curtis), a Colombian rebel. These deaths are simply a collateral damage for an international criminal who is unattainable for the police and justice, and Brewer, an ordinary LA fireman, decides to take revenge in his own hands. He goes to Columbia and tries to find Perrini along with criminal's ex Selena (Francesca Neri). Brewer will do anything to settle accounts with the terrorists. |

Kaufman is struggling with the arduous task of adapting The Orchid Thief, by Susan Orlean, which doesn't have an obvious dramatic line (it is essentially a book about orchids). At the same time he faces a mid-life crisis, which is worsened by the presence of his twin brother Donald, a less talented but more joyous person than Charlie, who dreams of making a lot of money with screenplays. The movie also shows Susan Orlean as she does her research for the book, and John Laroche, a colorful orchid hunter whom Susan interviews and, later, falls in love with. These stories eventually intertwine, with unpredictable results. |

Det. James Carter (Chris Tucker) is on vacation in Hong Kong, but Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) is too busy doing police work. It is Valentine's Day, the most romantic day of the year. At a high school dance, love is in the air. An unattractive student, Jeremy Melton (Joel Palmer), tries to ask girls to dance with him, but to no avail. At last plump Dorothy Wheeler (Jessica Capshaw) agrees, but school bullies don't like the couple and begin mocking at them. Dorothy says that Jeremy has attacked her. Then the boys humble Jeremy by calling him a pervert, pulling off his clothes and battering him in front of the entire school. Many years pass. In 2001, Dorothy, Paige Prescott (Denise Richards), Kate Davies (Marley Shelton), Lily Voight (Jessica Cauffiel), and Shelley Fisher (Katherine Heigl), who were at the school dance, plan to celebrate upcoming Valentine's Day together. However, one of the girls, Shelley, is brutally murdered by a Cupid-mask wearing killer who sent her a threatening Valentine's Day card just before the attack.
