Adapted from the delightful book of the same name by Dr. Seuss, this computer-generated animated feature film from the makers of the Ice Age films is a pure treat for anyone of any age. The plot revolves around Horton (Jim Carrey), a kind, sweet-natured, lively elephant with charming blue eyes and big ears who has very keen hearing. One day he hears a tiny cry from help but can't see anyone. Then he discovers much to his surprise that the sound comes from a small speck of dust which is actually a tiny city inhabited by microscopic creatures known as Whos. The Mayor (Steve Carell) and the residents of Whoville ask Horton to protect them and their home from the dangers of the outside world. Despite being mocked and tormented by his jungle pals, who consider him to be crazy, the compassionate elephant feels it his duty to take measures for the defence of the tiny community. |

For many years the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, along with the town dwellers, has got rid of its toxic waste and garbage by discharging them into the lake. After the sinking of the barge the band "Green Day" (Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt) was performing on, Lisa Simpson (Yeardley Smith) convinces the locals to clean up the polluted lake. But when her muddle-headed father Homer (Dan Castellaneta) dumps an overflowing silo of "Pig Crap" in it, he involuntarily causes ecological catastrophe. Induced by the treacherous adviser from the EPA, Russ Cargill (Albert Brooks), President Arnold Schwarzenegger (Harry Shearer) orders to put a giant glass dome over Springfield. The Simpsons, however, manage to escape with a whole skin through a sinkhole in their baby Maggie's sandbox and they flee to Alaska. Having heard of the president’s villainous plan to destroy Springfield, Homer’s wife Marge (Julie Kavner) and his kids try to persuade him to return to the town but all to no avail. Therefore Marge, along with the kids, leaves Homer. But a meeting with a medicine woman (Tress MacNeille) drastically changes his outlook and Homer comes to the conclusion that he must defy the president, once known as Terminator, so as to save the home town, which is on a razor's edge, and reunite with his family.

The animated movie revolves around a successful but arrogant race car, Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), who is used to fame, floodlights, crowds of groupies and a high-speed life. En route to California for the tie-break of the Piston Cup against two skilled opponents, Chick Hicks (Michael Keaton) and The King (Richard Petty), the indomitable McQueen unexpectedly runs astray in the small remote town of Radiator Springs on Route 66. After destroying the town’s main road, Lightning is sentenced to community service by the local judge Doc Hudson (Paul Newman). Stuck in the godforsaken town, he eventually makes friends with its nice inhabitants, an attractive Porsche attorney, Sally Carerra (Bonnie Hunt); a rusty wrecker tow truck, Mater (Larry the Cable Guy); a tire shop owner, Luigi (Tony Shalhoub), and many others. They open his eyes to a whole new world and help him understand the true meaning of life that there are more important and worthier things than fame and fortune.

Alex Rider (Alex Pettyfer), a typical 14-year-old school boy raised by his uncle, Ian Rider (Ewan McGregor), lives a normal life, until his guardian passes away under mysterious circumstances. Alex finally learns the truth: his uncle was not a nondescript bank manager, but a super spy for Britain's secret intelligence service MI6. Since then Alex's ordinary life has changed forever. Recruited by MI6, he carries on his uncle's dangerous mission to investigate criminal machinations of the biggest businessman, Darrius Sayle (Mickey Rourke), who has donated high-tech Stormbreaker computers to every school in Britain. When it becomes evident that the computers have some kind of virus in them, MI6 suspects Sayle of his nefarious scheme. Using his skills in mountaineering, scuba diving, and martial arts, and armed with the latest gadgets, Alex infiltrates Sayle's den by posing as the winner of a computer magazine contest and tries to discover what is going on. The teenage boy holds the fate of humanity in his hands.

One of the greatest Hollywood adventure stories gets the Peter Jackson's newest interpretation in this high-budget block-buster. A group of documentary filmmakers headed by Carl Denham (Jack Black) explores mysterious relict jungle somewhere upon the lost island near Sumatra in 1930s to examine how truthful the legends of the great ape Kong are. Soon they found themselves in this forest surrounded by dangerous and huge prehistoric fauna which was hidden there for millions of years. Explorers had found that King Kong is really exists in form of the 25 feet tall gorilla which can outfight any creature on Earth, even the dinosaurs inhabiting the mysterious Skull Island. Meanwhile, an actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) strikes up a romance with Jack Driscoll (Adrian Brody), a respected playwright hired by Denham to write the script for his latest epic. Adventurers manage creature capture, and bringing him to New York City for display, where Kong escapes and runs amok, finally climbing the Empire State Building. Andy Sirkis (Gollum in the Lord of The Rings) was brought in to provide the body movements and mimic for King Kong digital animation. |

The audacious theft of a Claude Monet painting from New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art is brilliantly executed in broad daylight. The priceless artwork is stolen by Thomas Crown (Pierce Brosnan), an adventurous self-made billionaire who can easily afford to buy anything he desires but there is nothing he enjoys better than walking on the razor's edge and winning. Thomas is a respected businessman therefore he is the last person the police suspect. But there is one person, namely Catherine Banning (Rene Russo), a smart insurance investigator who feels in her bones that Crown is involved in the theft. Hired to assist the police in retrieving the masterpiece, Catherine resorts to various means, from intelligence and cunning to personal charm, to accomplish her mission. |
