On March 5th 1873, two Scandinavian women living on the Isles of Shoals, New Hampshire, were brutally murdered. The first woman was hacked by an ax, the second one was beaten and strangled. A group of scientists, led by the brilliant and ambitious inventor Sebastian Caine (Kevin Bacon), accepts the Pentagon's assignment to formulate a serum for invisibility.
