Hollywood send-up. No-name actors are making a low-budget period drama called "Home for Purim," when an anonymous post on the Internet suggests that one performance is Oscar-worthy. Then, two more cast members get Oscar-related press: buzz in "Variety" and appearances on TV prompt the studio executives to insist on changes in the script in anticipation of a blockbuster. Jump ahead a few months to the days before Oscar nominees are announced: just the possibility of a nomination has changed the actors' lives. Derek Zoolander has been the dominant male model in the industry for three years thanks to his patented "look," Blue Steel. Jumanji is a board game, magic and dangerous, as two teenagers found it out and buried Jumanji in distant 1869. It's New Year's Eve at the Mon Signor Hotel, a former grand old Hollywood hotel, now fallen upon hard times. Often using physical comedy and sight gags, this movie chronicles the slapstick misadventures of Ted, the Bellhop. He's on his first night on the job, when he's asked to help out a coven of witches in the Honeymoon Suite. Things only get worse when he delivers ice to the wrong room and ends up in a domestic argument at a really bad time. Next, he foolishly agrees to watch a gangster's kids for him while he's away. Finally, he finishes off the night refereeing a ghastly wager. |

This movie became the real classic superhit between the other action-style films. John Spartan (Stallone) has the deadly foe: his name is Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes), and Spartan hunts him down for two years. When Simon takes 30 persons hostage, the building gets blown up during the all-out battle between the cop and the offender. Due to the fact that his efforts was taken for carelessness and the people were killed, Spartan gets accused and sentenced to serve 70 long years in a cryogenic camera. After the penitentiary period (already in the future) Spartan should acquire some peaceful skills such as knitting and cooking, but accidentally he gets to know that Simon is still alive and dangerous. More, Spartan is the only man who can stop this recidivist because all serious crimes and criminals are eradicated in the described future and there is no cop who can struggle against the offender. |
