Imagine that you have arrived in Las Vegas. Your programme contains a casino visit. It is a pure accident that you win a special token in the slot machine and are invited to a secret dinner party. There, an eccentric casino mogul, Donald P. Sinclair (John Cleese), for example, makes you and your contestants a tempting offer to take participation in a race. The first to reach Silver City, New Mexico, will receive the $2 million cash prize hidden away in a locker. Can you refuse the offer? Can you miss the chance to hit the jackpot?

Quoyle (Kevin Spacey) is a born loser. However, he makes no efforts to have success in his life. He is an unhappy, emotionally-beaten printer who drags out a miserable existence. When he falls in love with a beautiful girl, Petal (Cate Blanchett), he is unlucky again. Soon after Petal gives birth to a baby girl, she plunges into dissipation. Then she sells the daughter to an illegal adoption agency and dies suddenly in a car crash. At the same time Quoyle's father, a stern, sometimes brutal man, passes away. To turn over a new leaf, Quoyle leaves New York for his ancestral home on the coast of Newfoundland. There, he gets a job as a reporter for the local newspaper. The paper owner, Jack Buggit (Scott Glenn), assigns him to write shipping news. In the course of time, Quoyle's life changes for the better, in particular, when he wins favour of Wavey Prowse (Julianne Moore).

Attractive but lonely Cat Storm (Dominique Swain) is a private school student in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She tries to make friends among her wealthy classmates and is in love with handsome and bumptious William Sellers (Brad Renfro), who is in the school's elite social group. However, Cat is surprised to discover that William reciprocates her feelings. Blinded by the romance with the boy of her dreams and her new popular status, Cat takes a while to realize that she is drawn into a web of nightclubs, drugs, sex and deception.

It's good for you, if you know who your enemy is. But sometimes you'd better know who your friend is... When a brother and sister, Kate (Rachel Hayward) and Mike O'Connor (Tygh Runyan), arrive in a hick town in Oregon, they meet with stranger Adam Turrell (Tom Berenger), who is charismatic as Lucifer and has a deep hypnotic look. However, the trustful Kate and Mike don't know what his dangerous friendship will turn out like.

The bizarre glass house is filled with different mysterious artifacts as well as Latin inscriptions carved on the walls and floors. The doors in the house open and close strangely by themselves. Little does Arthur know that when he enters this creepy mansion, he will reluctantly fulfil Cyrus's evil will and unleash twelve vengeful ghosts that are imprisoned in the basement. Then the energy of the gruesome ghosts will fuel an evil giant machine to open a portal to the Eye of Hell. But it requires a thirteen spirit to join the Black Zodiac...

It's a quiet little town where nothing happens - until the day the bank is hit for half a million dollars of Indian casino money by a thief wearing a clowns mask. From here the story follows a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse between bank robber and former cop Parker (James Spader) and small-town police officer Ray DeCarlo (David Keith) determined to catch him. Parker doesn't help himself by holing up with a nurse who happens to be DeCarlo's former wife. Throw in a rookie FBI agent, Indians who want their money back, some former friends of Parker who are not so friendly anymore and his fate seems sealed.

David Mamet takes this story of thieves along many twists and turns, some of which work and some of which don't. Gene Hackman plays the brilliant leader of a gang (Delroy Lindo, Ricky Jay & Rebecca Pigeon as Hackman's youngish wife), which pulls off complex heists for a despicable fence (Danny DeVito). After stiffing the gang on a jewelry robbery, DeVito forces the gang to go after a Swiss gold shipment and to use his nephew (Sam Rockwell) in the crime. No one trusts anyone and every step is shaded with the unexpected.

When her father re-marries after the death of her mother, Mary Bedford finds herself bundled off to a posh girls boarding school. She's never been to boarding school before and it's all quite daunting at first. Soon however she makes friends, including her two roommates, Tori and Paulie, whom she soon realizes are lovers. She also becomes quite friendly with the gardener, Joe Menzies, and helps him on the school grounds as it reminds her of working with her late mother in the family garden. When Tori decides to end her relationship with Paulie however, tragedy ensues.

Talented rookie race-car driver Jimmy Bly has started losing his focus and begins to slip in the race rankings. It's no wonder, with the immense pressure being shoveled on him by his overly ambitious promoter brother as well as Bly's romance with his arch rival's girlfriend Sophia. With much riding on Bly, car owner Carl Henry brings former racing star Joe Tanto on board to help Bly. To drive Bly back to the top of the rankings, Tanto must first deal with the emotional scars left over from a tragic racing accident which nearly took his life.

He is revealed to be a criminal wearing a mask of the teacher and contacts a criminal psychologist to play cat and mouse. Cross believes he is being involved to ensure the kidnapper will attain fame. Confirmed by copycat of the Lindenburgh kidnapping and books about the case found in his hideout. However it is a deception using an unsuspecting accomplice and hides another plot the profiler is blind to.

On March 5th 1873, two Scandinavian women living on the Isles of Shoals, New Hampshire, were brutally murdered. The first woman was hacked by an ax, the second one was beaten and strangled. A century later, Pulitzer Prize winning poet Thomas Janes (Sean Penn), his wife, Jean (Catherine McCormack), a photojournalist, his stepbrother, Rich Janes (Josh Lucas), and Rich's girlfriend, Adaline Gunne (Elizabeth Hurley), travel to the same Isles on a yacht. Jean doesn't spend time only enjoying the sea and the sun but investigating the mysterious double homicide. The storyline shifts between the present and the past as the two different narratives of Maren's life, the eyewitness of the murder, and Jean's seemingly perfect life, interweave in the suspenseful movie.

Nicholas Oseransky (Matthew Perry) is a nice, mild-mannered, a bit naive guy living in peaceful suburban Montreal and working as a dentist. When Sophie learns of Jimmy's true identity, she forces Nicholas to go to Chicago and sell the hitman's whereabouts to the dangerous mobsters he ratted out. Moreover, the greedy Sophie decides to kill two birds with one stone: she presses Jimmy to finish her husband off so that she can get the life insurance money...

Colonel Terry Childers is a 30 year career Marine. When he is ordered to go the American Embassy in Yemen, when it's learned that things there are starting to unravel. After evacuating the Ambassador and his family, Childers orders his men to fire at the crowd cause he believes that they are armed. Back in the U.S., certain officials fear that there'll be a backlash against other embassies and Americans, if Childers claim is proven to be true. So they have decided to make Childers a scapegoat. Childers asks Colonel Hayes Hodges, a man whom he knew and saved in Vietnam to defend him. And while there is no evidence or witness that can back Childers' claim, Hodges feels that he owes it to Childers to do what he can.

Morgana, sister of Ursula, almost steals the baby Melody from her parents, Ariel and Eric. To protect Melody, she's told never to enter the ocean, but by her 12th birthday, she's been swimming there for years. She discovers the magic locket that was to be her christening gift, which makes her visible to Morgana. Morgana tempts her by offering her fondest wish, to turn her into a mermaid; however, to remain a mermaid, she'll have to steal the magic trident from King Triton (who, unknown to her, is her grandfather). Meanwhile, all the sea creatures are searching for her. Along the way, she joins up with comic relief sidekicks Tip (a penguin) and Dash (a walrus). When she returns with the trident, Morgana's evil nature is revealed, and there is a massive battle of good and evil.
