The United States is trying to help the New Russia in the war against organized crime in that country. Presently, they are after Terek Murad, a deadly crime boss. When they raid one of his establishments, Murad's brother is killed. Murad seeks revenge against the ones who killed his brother, FBI agent Carter Preston and Russian Major Valentina Koslova, but most of all, he wants to send a message to the Americans about interfering in matters that don't concern them, so he hires an international assassin to kill the head of the FBI. When the assassin advises Murad to go into hiding until the job is done, he does. Desperate to know what Murad is doing, Preston allows the Russians to abduct Murad's errand boy and torture him to find out, and he utters the word "Jackal" which Preston recognizes as the name of an international assassin. They have to find him but unfortunatly, there is noone who knows who he is except for one person, whom they have to find and the only person who knows where that person is, is Declan Mulqueen, an IRA man, who is in prison, they offer to reduce his sentence is he helps them but refuses because all he wants is to be freed, so they decide to leave but he tells them that he knows who the Jackal is. So they release him and together they try to find the Jackal before he makes his move which won't be easy because he is very wily.
After a waterfront explosion, Verbal (Kevin Spacey), an eye-witness and participant tells the story of events leading up to the conflagration. The story begins when five men are rounded up for a line-up, and grilled about a truck hijacking (the usual suspects). Least pleased is Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) a crooked cop - exposed, indicted, but now desperately trying to go straight. The cops won't leave him alone, however, and as they wait for their lawyers to post bail, he is talked into doing one more job with the other four. All goes tolerably well until the influence of the legendary, seemingly omnipotent "Keyser Soze" is felt. Although set in the modern day, it has much of the texture of the forties, plus suspense, intrigue (a fairly high body count), and lots of twists in the plot.

Pirates, treasures, Jamaica. The daughter (Geena Davis) of a dying pirate gets a peace of the secret map, which can lead her to the Spanish treasure, which is buried on some mysterious island. Her father was killed by her uncle, and she desperately wants to take a revenge upon the fratricidal pirate named "Dawg" (Frank Langella). She realizes that the second peace of the map is in the hands of her bloody enemy, and begins to recruit the ship crew at Port Royal. Then it turns out to be that one of the men she recruited, William Shaw (Matthew Modine), has the last (third) part of the map. But the bloodthirsty unkle Dawg still has its second part. Thus... let the battle begin!
One of the most successful roles of Johnny Depp is William Blake, a young accountant who arrived at the distant town to work at the doubtful manufacture having a one way ticket. At the very first evening he gets into a very disagreeable, Wild-West-style story, and now he has to go into hiding, being hunted down by three cutthroats who have the only purpose - to kill him and then to deliver to the powerful manufacture owner. Being on the run, he suddenly meets the strange Indian who call himself Nobody and offers William his help. This rather surrealistic, black-and-white metaphoric movie is very stylish and intricate at some points, but a severely DEPPressive one as the theme of the last journey of any human seems to be one of the main counterpoints of the picture. Also starring are Iggy Pop, Crispin Glover, Billy Bob Thornton and Lance Henricksen.

The band meet up with a group of trendy German beatniks, one of whom (Astrid Kircherr) bass guitarist Stuart Sutcliffe falls in love with. Whilst best friend John Lennon can only watch, Sutcliffe has to choose between rock 'n roll and a new life in Germany...
Billy Hughes, a mute makeup artist working on a slasher film being shot in Moscow, is locked in the studio after hours. While there she witnesses a brutal murder, and must first escape capture at that time, then keep from being killed before convincing authorities of what she's seen. Plot twists galore follow as Billy tries to stay alive.
When Waring Hudsucker, head of hugely successful Hudsucker Industries, commits suicide, his board of directors, led by Sidney Mussberger, comes up with a brilliant plan to make a lot of money: appoint a moron to run the company. When the stock falls low enough, Sidney and friends can buy it up for pennies on the dollar, take over the company, and restore its fortunes. They choose idealistic Norville Barnes, who just started in the mail room. Norville is whacky enough to drive any company to ruin, but soon, tough reporter Amy Archer smells a rat and begins an undercover investigation of Hudsucker Industries.
A chess grandmaster is in a big tournament, and when his lover is found painted up and the blood drained out of her body he becomes a chief suspect. After he gets a call from the killer urging him to try and figure out the game, he cooperates with police and a psychologist to try and catch the killer, but doubts linger about the grandmaster's innocence as the string of grisly murders continues.
This movie consists of 5 different novels dedicated to taxi drivers who live in five different cities, every novel has its specific theme, which is peculiar to each action scene. LA and NY, Paris and Rome are the scenes where the stories about cities, culture, blind and seeing, life and death unroll. And the theme of man's abandonment develops in the snow-covered Helsinki.

Sometimes-muddled road movie-turns-sci fi. Hurt plays a man who is traveling the world taking pictures with a special camera that will enable the blind to see (specifically, his blind mother). He meets up with Dommartin on the way, and they predictably hit it off. Set in 1999, a subplot about a nuclear satellite that has fallen to earth and presumably destroyed civilization only adds to the confusion.
