The action takes place in the USA in the 1930s. Grace (Nicole Kidman), a beatiful woman on the run from gangsters, arrives in the small Rocky Mountain town of Dogville. Town philosopher Tom Edison (Paul Bettany) takes her in and convinces the townsfolk to hide her. In exchange for shelter, Grace has to work for the townspeople all hours: she teaches math to the local kids, takes care of the blind old man, helps the apple farmer (Stellan Skarsgård) and the shopkeeper (Lauren Bacall). Eventually, the townspeople, egoistic and ruthless, begin demanding more and more from poor Grace. Tired of working double shifts, Grace decides to leave the town, but the escape fails, and she has to pass through a black ordeal. As a slave she is forced to toil from dawn to dusk, and raped by every man in Dogville night after night. Finally, Tom calls up Grace’s father (James Caan) to rescue his daughter from her inexorable torturers. |

Confident in the birth of a longed-for son and heir, Rembrandt is determined to expose the conspiring murderers and builds his accusation meticulously in the form of the commissioned painting, uncovering the seamy and hypocritical side to Dutch Society in the Golden Age. Rembrandt's great good fortune turns. Saskia dies. Rembrandt reveals the accusation of murder in the painting and the conspirators plan revenge. They set out to discredit him at home and abroad. They plant a treacherous mistress, Geertje, to seduce him. They try to blind him. They plan his social and financial ruin, and to create the circumstances for his slide into penury, insult his young mistress Hendrickje, conspire to destroy his son, and bring Rembrandt to his knees. The bold and courageous painting of the Nightwatch, exceptional in aesthetics and content, is Rembrandt's most celebrated painting, it consolidated his reputation as a master-painter but it also destroyed him socially and financially. |

In 1933, after leaving Dogville, while traveling with her father (Willem Dafoe) and his gangsters to the south of USA, Grace Margaret Mulligan (Bryce Dallas Howard) sees a slave ready to be punished in a property called Manderlay. The slavery had been abolished seventy years ago, and Grace becomes revolted with the attitude of the owners of Manderlay, keeping slaves in their cotton fields and following predetermined despicable rules called "Mam's Law". Grace decides to stay with some gangsters in Manderlay and give notions of democracy to the slaves and to the white family. When harvest time comes, Grace sees the social and economical reality of Manderlay. |

Bill has killed the father (Liam Nison) of DiCaprio's character called Amsterdam Vallon, several years later the young man returns to NYC and becomes an ally of The Butcher who has no idea about the past of his new crony. Vallon slowly falls under his spell which causes an inner conflict in his life because his primal aim was the ruthless revenge. The plot revolves around four characters. The thief, Albert Spica (Michael Gambon), is a stout man with a broad and thick beard. Brute and boorish, he abuses people, including his aristocratic and reserved wife, Georgina (Helen Mirren). Enslaved and humbled, Georgina enters into a liaison relationship with a gentle bookseller, Michael (Alan Howard). They have intimacy between meals in the kitchen of her husband's restaurant. When Albert gets to know about their affair, he and his men track down Georgina's lover and kill him in his book store. Having found Michael's dead body, Georgina plots her long-awaited vengeance. She brings the body to the restaurant's chef, Richard (Richard Bohringer), and asks him to cook it. She then presents her lover's roasted flesh to her vicious husband and suggests that he take a bite of it. Surrounded by Albert's other victims, the wife shoots him as soon as he cuts a piece of the flesh. |

In 1501, in the Western Europe, in a period when the black plague is jeopardizing the populations, an army of mercenary peasants leaded by Martin (Rutger Hauer) fights side-by-side with the noble Arnolfini (Fernando Hilbeck) to retrieve his castle, with the promise of a huge reward. In one of the wagon is traveling the fiancée of Steven, Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh), who is accidentally kidnapped and later raped by the group. Agnes becomes Martin's mate, and the mercenaries decide to invade a castle, without knowing that the army of Arnolfini is chasing them. |

The film was noted at numerous grand festivals in Europe and USA but its explicit content made it almost unsuitable for the distribution in the US. |

They arranged illegal parties in the most unusual public places including subway, buses, superstores and doughnut shops. A 16-year-old guy, Michael Alig, arrived in New York City to win his way. He worked as a waiter in the nightclub, and then he began organizing parties there. His party themes eventually became more and more twisted. Moreover, Michael’s circle of acquaintance became more depraved: he was on friendly terms with transvestite Christina (Marilyn Manson) and aspiring DJ and drug addict Keoki (Wilmer Valderrama). His vicious life came to the end when he murdered his roommate and drug-dealer, Angel Melende (Wilson Cruz), and was put into prison. |

Burke's mentor and employer Karl Jorgensen (Derek de Lint), enigmatic though supportive, seems to hold the key to the mystery. |
