At parting the rabbit prophesies that the "end of the world" will occur in "28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes and 12 seconds." Before the apocalypse Frank calls on Donnie several times and draws him into a chain of vandal actions. |

On 1st November 1959, in New York, C.C. "Bud" Baxter is a popular clerk of "Consolidate Life", an insurance company with 31,259 employees. The secret of his success is a well located apartment where he lives that he sublets for his superiors, making him climb to the executive position of 2nd Administrative Assistant very early. He likes the elevator girl Fran Kubelik, a reserved woman considered a "jackpot" among the executives. Fran is the secret lover of the director Jeff D. Sheldrake, a married man that seduced her convincing that he will divorce his wife to stay with her. When Fran tries to commit suicide in Baxter's apartment after a meeting with Jeff, she stays with Baxter while recovering, and he falls in love for her. Later he has to come up to a decision between his excellent position in the company and his love. |

Ian Curtis is a quiet and rather sad lad who works for an employment agency and sings in a band called Warsaw. He meets a girl named Debbie whom he promptly marries and his band, of which the name in the meantime has been changed to Joy Division, gets more and more successful. Even though Debbie and he become parents, their relationship is going downhill rapidly and Ian starts an affair with Belgium Annik whom he met after one of the gigs and he's almost never at home. Ian also suffers from epilepsy and has no-good medication for it. He doesn't know how to handle the feelings he has for Debbie and Annik and the pressure the popularity of Joy Division and the energy performing costs him. |

However, in the present time, the Orwellian London lives under the fascist government of chancellor Adam, and V will fight against his regime, using the power of powder, blowing up important buildings. Evey will be chased by the secret police, thinking that she's the accomplice of V, who will accomplish Fawkes' mission of destroying the Parlament on the 5th of November, in this mixture of The Phantom of the Opera, George Orwell's 1984 and Batman. |

After his escapade Gary ends up living under home arrest and the supervision of a cheery, serious publicist, Margaret (Melissa McCarthy), who moves him into the empty house of a television writer. He befriends an attractive next-door neighbor, Sarah (Hope Davis), and mysteriously becomes haunted by the number nine.
"Reality Television" focuses on Gavin (Ryan Reynolds), the house's owner who is away in Canada. He is shooting a supernatural network television drama starring his best friend Melissa McCarthy. When the network boss and studio executive Susan (Hope Davis) decide to replace Melissa with another actress, Gavin must tell her bad news.
"Knowing" finds a videogame designer, Gabriel (Ryan Reynolds), facing car trouble on an outing in the Hollywood Hills. Leaving his wife Mary (Melissa McCarthy) and child (Elle Fanning) in the car, he goes to seek help and encounters Sierra (Hope Davis), a strangely wary woman.
