Gremlins begins with inventor Rand Peltzer trying to find a quick gift for his son Billy before returning home from a New York trip. He settles on a unique pet in a Chinatown curio shop--a cute, furry creature known as a Mogwai. Before he leaves, he is warned by the shop's owner that three rules must be obeyed by a Mogwai owner: 1) Keep it away from bright light, 2) Don't get any water on it, and 3) Never, never ever feed it after midnight. Rand takes note of these rules and returns home with the Mogwai to his idyllic small-town home of Kingston Falls. Rand's gift is an instant hit: Billy loves his adorable new pet, naming it Gizmo and taking it everywhere he goes. Unfortunately, he and his friends also begin breaking the rules of Mogwai care. When water is accidentally spilled on Gizmo, it causes him to multiply and produce a number of mischievous little brothers. Among these is the mean-tempered Stripe. Soon enough, the new Mogwai get hold of some food after midnight and this causes them to change from cute fur-balls into nasty, scaly monsters dubbed 'Gremlins.' |

This holiday season, Buddy sets off for New York City to find his roots. In Big Applethe innocent elf faces with all kinds of humorous trouble. First he seeks out his real father, Walter Hobbs (James Caan), a workaholic publisher, who has lost the Christmas spirit. Walter doesn’t believe Buddy is who or what he says he is. Buddy also discovers his stepmother Emily (Mary Steenburgen) and his ten-year-old stepbrother Michael (Daniel Tay) who doesn’t believe in Christmas or Santa. In fact, everyone seems to have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. This animated feature is set in medieval times. After the English king dies leaving no heir, in the churchyard of a cathedral in London, a sword appears imbedded in a stone inscribed, "Who so pulleth out this sword of this stone and anvil is rightwise king born of England." Although many try, no one can budge the sword from the stone. Deep in the dark woods, kind, but absent-minded Merlin the Magician begins to teach 11-year-old Arthur, who is called Wart, and lives in the castle of Sir Ector where he's an apprentice squire to burly, oafish Sir Kay — when he's not washing stacks of pots and pans in the scullery. By being changed by Merlin into various animals, Wart learns the basic truths of life, but he also runs into the evil Madam Mim, who tries to destroy him. Merlin and Mim have a Wizards' Duel, during which each changes into various creatures, with Merlin using his wits to win. On New Year's Day, a great tournament is held in London to pick a new king. Wart, attending as Kay's squire, forgets Kay's sword, and runs back to the inn to get it, but the inn is locked. Wart, seeing the sword in the stone, innocently, and easily, pulls it out. When the knights marvel at the wondrous sword and question where he got it, Wart has to prove himself all over again, and again he pulls the sword from the stone. Wart is proclaimed king by the marveling warriors. Wart as King Arthur is apprehensive of his ability to govern, but Merlin returns to reassure him. |

Suddenly Michael realizes the huge amount of important things he missed in his life paying to much attention to his work. |

Derry, Maine is a quiet town, terrorized every 30 years by a horror known only as "It". The only victims of "It" are children. Ironically they know about "It", but the events are too horrible to talk about. Seven outcasts, know as The Lucky Seven, Bill, Ben, Beverly, Eddie, Richie, Mike, and Stan are able to defeat "It" as children and make a pact to return and do battle again should the terror return. Now 30 years later, Mike Hanlon who stayed behind, is puzzled by a bizarre occurance of child murders. When he discovers that "It" has come back, he reunites what's left of The Lucky Seven, now in their middle ages to do battle once again, and "It" is ready. The Lucky Seven must now defeat "It" and cure Derry of "The Derry Disease". |

The movie follows the ancient Greek names, thus it is irrelevant to use the Roman name Ulysses. Generally, it was poorly written. Homer's classic epic poem about the hero, Odysseus, and his travels home after the infamous ten year battle of Troy, is brought to the silver screen. The gods seize the opportunity to make Odysseus and his crew the pawns in their games; forcing Odysseus to take unbelievable detours that add years to his journey home. These detours throw him into conflict with great mythological creatures like Circe, the Cyclops, and Poseidon, and ultimately bring him into Hades itself. Meanwhile, Odysseus' wife, Penelope, worries that her husband is dead and is forced to fight off suitors who want to claim his kingdom. Through all of this Odysseus must keep faith and fight to find his way back home, with only the aid of the goddess Athena. |

A ten-year-old girl named Jeliza-Rose (Jodelle Ferland) seems to have the bad luck to grow up in a family of junkies. Her aging father, Noah (Jeff Bridges), is a faded rock 'n' roll musician who has long-lasting drug trips in the evenings, and her erratic mother, Queen Gunhilda (Jennifer Tilly), is also dependent on drugs. Nevertheless, the little girl loves her family because as the old saying goes "you can't choose your parents." When his wife's unhealthy lifestyle brings her to her grave, Noah decides to take his daughter to a ramshackle remote house situated in the middle of wheat fields and prairies. To escape from harsh reality, Jeliza-Rose retreats into the realm of her own imagination. Her fairyland is populated by talking squirrels with shark heads, myriads of fireflies, resurrected bogmen, and bodiless doll heads who keep her company. |
