With another madman on the loose, Graham has no choice but to return to duty, though he knows that it might cost him his family and his sanity.
To get the old mind-set back, Graham visits Hannibal Lecter in his high-security jail cell. However, the manipulative Lecter plays both sides and warns the new killer that Graham is on his trail, telling him to destroy Graham's family to protect himself. In order to save his own family, Graham must risk everything to once again enter into the mind of the criminally insane.
With MANHUNTER, Mann raises the bar for serial killer films, imbuing his killer with an almost sympathetic quality while keeping him extremely menacing and clearly dangerous. Based on the Thomas Harris novel RED DRAGON, which serves as the prequel to THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, MANHUNTER is a masterpiece of gripping storytelling and psychological horror. |

After a U.S. doctor in Morgue (Scott Wilson) orders a South Korean soldier to discharge toxic chemicals into the drain near the Han River in Seoul, a small tadpole grows into a monstrous creature. One day the horrifying mutant (voiced by Dal-su Oh) emerges from the depths of the river onto its bank for a feast of flesh. Among the monster's victims is a teenage girl named Hyun-seo (Ah-sung Ko) whose father Gang-du (Kang-ho Song) fails to rescue her from the clutches of the beast. The plot revolves around four characters. The thief, Albert Spica (Michael Gambon), is a stout man with a broad and thick beard. Brute and boorish, he abuses people, including his aristocratic and reserved wife, Georgina (Helen Mirren). Enslaved and humbled, Georgina enters into a liaison relationship with a gentle bookseller, Michael (Alan Howard). They have intimacy between meals in the kitchen of her husband's restaurant. When Albert gets to know about their affair, he and his men track down Georgina's lover and kill him in his book store. Having found Michael's dead body, Georgina plots her long-awaited vengeance. She brings the body to the restaurant's chef, Richard (Richard Bohringer), and asks him to cook it. She then presents her lover's roasted flesh to her vicious husband and suggests that he take a bite of it. Surrounded by Albert's other victims, the wife shoots him as soon as he cuts a piece of the flesh. |
