Based on a true story, the gruelling drama revolves around Bobby Kent (Nick Stahl) and Marty Puccio (Brad Renfro), two teenagers who have been close friends since their childhood. They are involved in an eccentric relationship. A pathologic sadist, Bobby cruelly abuses Marty, the naïve galoot who can't stand up for himself.
