Plot Summary:
Set at the end of the XIX century in Cuba, the thriller depicts the story of dangerous, and sometimes deadly, love. Luis Antonio Vargas (Antonio Banderas), a wealthy coffee exporter, arranges to marry Julia Russell (Angelina Jolie), an American mail-order bride who he thinks is a virgin modest woman. But when he arrives at the port to meet her, Luis discovers that she is unlike the woman whose picture she sent and gets struck by her dazzling beauty, charm and seductiveness.
