Lincoln Hawk (Sylvester Stallone) is a big-rig trucker, talented in arm wrestling, who's trying to restore his life. After his wife Christina (Susan Blakely), whom he left ten years ago, dies of an illness, he attempts to rebuild relationships with his son Mike (David Mendenhall). But Christina's father, Jason Cutler (Robert Loggia), is furious since he is convinced that his daughter and Hawk should never have got married and so Hawk has no right to reappear in his grandson's life.
