To rent a flat and to save up money he lands a job at the metallurgical plant where he meets Alex, a girl who believes in his rap talents. His Afro-American buddy allows Jimmy to make a demo-record at the studio but their friendship crushes when Jimmy and Alex get caught red-handed at the scene of kissing. Meantime, Jimmy takes part in rap contests despite the fact he isn't met with open hands in the Afro-American community.

Formed as a rock band in 1976 in salford, Greater Manchester, originally named Warsaw, Joy Division quickly went off their initial punk rock influences and created a sound and style that shaped the tendencies of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s. Control, however, is virtually about Curtis’s difficult relationships with his wife Deborah (Samantha Morton) and the way his personal pain, epileptic sufferings, guilt and depression got manifested through Joy Division’s music. Playing all the instruments themselves, the actors must be given credit.
