Based on true events, the extraordinary movie won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2001. The movie tells the story of John Nash (Russell Crowe) who starts grad school at Princeton in 1947. Some people consider him to be mentally ill, others regard him as a math genius. He is very lonely as he doesn't much like people, and they don't like him either. John often misses classes and spends his time working on game theory. As a result, Nash gains a prestigious post at MIT's Wheeler House. Some time later he gets married to brilliant student Alicia (Jennifer Connelly) and is recruited by the CIA for top-secret code-breaking activities. Eventually, Nash's brilliance leads him to madness making him lose control of reality. Alicia wants to help her husband; drugs and shock therapy, however, turn Nash into a listless, crest-fallen person. But Nash starts struggling to gain some control over his mental state. After hard years of insanity John Nash ultimately manages to overcome his schizophrenia and win international recognition. |

While escaping from the cops after a failed toyshop robbery attempt for a Christmas present for his niece, likable small-time crook Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jr.) finds himself fortuitously in an audition for a Hollywood detective movie. Impressed by his energy and forcefulness, the producer sends Harry to Los Angeles for a screen test where the latter meets private-eye and movie consultant Perry van Shrike (Val Kilmer), also known as Gay Perry, who teaches him all the tips on how to act. At a Hollywood party Harry crosses the path with his unrequited old flame, Harmony Faith Lane (Michelle Monaghan), an aspirant actress. Harmony mistakes Harry for an actual detective and implores him to investigate her younger sister’s death. Teamed up with Gay Perry, Harry is out to solve an intricate murder case.

Cloverfield follows five New Yorkers from the perspective of a hand-held video camera. The movie is exactly the length of a DV Tape and a sub-plot is established by showing bits and pieces of video previously recorded on the tape that is being recorded over. The movie starts as a monster of unknown origin destroys a building. As they go to investigate, parts of the building and the head of the Statue of Liberty come raining down. The movie follows their adventure trying to escape and save a friend, a love interest of the main character. |

David Mann ('Dennis Weaver (I)' (qv)) is just a regular family man on a business trip. Unfortunately, things go from bad to worse when a huge gasoline truck in front of him forces him to drive slower than he wants. As the drive continues, Mann realizes that he's not dealing with just another road hog. Though he can never see the trucker's face, the driver proves to be psychopathic, starting to run Mann off the road and trick or force him into a number of deadly situations. As the horrific trip continues, Mann tries to lose the truck, but each time he thinks he's finally in the clear, the truck returns to terrify him more. Finally, the horrific conflict builds to a point where he realizes that running won't save him, and that he must take a stand and fight back against the insane trucker. |

Based on a story by Daphne Du Maurier, this bone-chilling horror movie revolves around English architect John Baxter (Donald Sutherland) and his wife Laura (Julie Christie) who, after the tragic death of their young daughter, try to get their minds off their grief by changing environment. The mourning couple head for Venice, Italy where John has been contracted to oversee the architectural restoration of an ancient church. In Venice, they encounter two eccentric elderly sisters, one of whom is blind and claims to be psychic. Baxter remains skeptical until he begins having visions of a mysterious young girl in a red cloak identical with his daughter's, as well as his wife and the sisters on a funeral gondola.
