Based on a play, Sleuth confronts two extremely clever British men in a game of trickery and deceit. Andrew Wyke (Michael Cain), an aging famous author who lives alone in a high-tech mansion, after his wife Maggie has left him for a younger man; and Milo Tindle (Jude Law),an aspiring actor, equipped with charm and wit, who demonstrates both qualities once again). When Wyke invite Tindle to his mansion, Tindle seeks to convince the former into letting his wife go by signing the divorce paper. However, Wyke seems far more interested in playing mind games with his wife's new lover, and lures him into a series of actions he thoroughly planned in seeking revenge on his unfaithful spouse. |

The faith is lost, the job is quitted, and one day Hess family encounters the unknown, namely the 500-foot circles shaped with mathematical exactness. But this explanation soon proves its groundlessness: Graham is confronted with the new uncommon, inexplicable events as he began to see and hear strange things. A sculptor of wax figures for a museum is horrified when his partner proposes setting fire to the unpopular museum in order to collect the insurance money. As the wax figures melt amid the blaze, the two men have a fight. The sculptor is knocked out in the scuffle and left to "perish" among the flames. He resurfaces many years later for the launch of his own wax museum. The opening coincides with the sudden disappearance of some dead bodies from the city morgue. His assistant begins to suspect his boss of foul play, especially after the deranged wizard of wax begins eyeing his assistant's lovely girlfriend's friend as a model for a waxed figure of Marie Antoinette. |

Detective Nick Curren (Michael Douglas), conducting the criminal investigation of a rock star murder, is to interrogate the suspect - Catherine Tramell (Sharon Stone), the woman writer who is a famous authoress of her shocking novels. She is blonde, bisexual, seductive, suspective and obviously dangerous - as well as invulnerable to all attempts to accuse her of the murder. But one of her novels contains the description of the same murder. Besides, Tramell was a lover of the killed guy, and what is more, his breathless body was found on the bed which was evidently a place of a hot sexual battle. Curren finds himself slowly involved into the web of Catherine's intrigue; he can only guess at her guilt. Is he doomed to be the hero of her next novel?

When he discovers that "It" has come back, he reunites what's left of The Lucky Seven, now in their middle ages to do battle once again, and "It" is ready. Although Miss Marple wants only to bask quietly at a West Indian resort, she is badgered with boring reminiscences by an overly talkative ex-soldier and policeman, Major Palgrave. Although he claims to possess a picture of a murderer, Miss Marple is more interested in her omnipresent knitting than his long-winded stories. After the hard-drinking Major dies that night of an apparent heart attack, the maid tells her that the blood pressure medication found in his room belongs to another guest. When she later learns that the incriminating picture is missing and the maid is found stabbed to death, Miss Marple correctly predicts that more murders will follow. |
