This movie became the real classic superhit between the other action-style films. John Spartan (Stallone) has the deadly foe: his name is Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes), and Spartan hunts him down for two years. When Simon takes 30 persons hostage, the building gets blown up during the all-out battle between the cop and the offender. Due to the fact that his efforts was taken for carelessness and the people were killed, Spartan gets accused and sentenced to serve 70 long years in a cryogenic camera. After the penitentiary period (already in the future) Spartan should acquire some peaceful skills such as knitting and cooking, but accidentally he gets to know that Simon is still alive and dangerous. More, Spartan is the only man who can stop this recidivist because all serious crimes and criminals are eradicated in the described future and there is no cop who can struggle against the offender. |

If you like Luc Besson's "Nikita", you will maybe found this movie at least noteworthy, if not - perhaps you will enjoy it anyway because it's just another look at the same story of the young girl played by Bridget Fonda who became an offender and was sentenced then (the story is almost the same except an ending, it differs from "Nikita"). She killed the police officer during the armed robbery in which she took a part. Then she was enlisted by government to execute some covert and dangerous missions which involve dynamic and brutal action and style. |

Calogero Anello is a 9-year old child living in the Bronx - notorious for gangster bars, racist people and aggressive nature. Calogero's father (Robert DeNiro) is a working man who wants his child to grow up and make his money honestly, and does not want him to mix with Sonny. Despite his father's disapproval, for eight years he continues to see Sonny, and receives a 'street' education from him. Despite being a gangster, Sonny loves Calogero and teaches him that being a gangster is too risky and dangerous. However Calogero misinterprets Sonny's message, and still gets involved with racist fights with his friends. Things get worse when he falls in love with a black girl. This story of the Bronx, as a child grows up with two educations, one from school and one from the street. As the child grows closer to a gangster, he begins to grow away from his family. |

Doug Ireland is the concierge of a ritzy hotel in New York. He does what he has to to satisfy the hotel's guests, by getting them what they need; like jewelry, candy mints, and theatre tickets. He also tries to keep the manager from terminating Milton, the bellhop, who was been working at the hotel for more than half a century, who likes to think that the spirit of the hotel's founder is still around. Doug wants to open his own hotel on Roosevelt Island. Now he has saved every cent he could to get an option on an old hotel. Now he has a matter of weeks to develop the hotel or else he will lose it. But to do it he needs at least 3 million dollars and his best chance to get it is Christian Hanover. While Hanover considers Doug's proposal, he asks him to "take care" of his girlfriend, Andy, a girl whom Doug has the hots for but is constantly turned down when he asks her out, cause she doesn't want to be two timing her boyfriend, Hanover. Now Hanover is married but says that "he will divorce his wife and marry her". Doug doesn't exactly believe him but thinks that his hotel is more important and Andy can make her own decisions. But the more Doug spends with Andy, Doug is starting to wonder what is important. |
