Set in 2035, the futuristic science fiction movie revolves around convict James Cole (Bruce Willis) who volunteers to make a perilous trip back into the past. He is sent back to the year 1996 to help scientists to find the origins of a lethal virus that has killed 99% of the human population and has forced the survivors to live beneath the surface of the planet. Thus, the animals begin to dominate the world once again. Unfortunately for Cole, he finds himself mistakenly sent to 1990 and locked up in a mental asylum by Dr. Kathryn Railly(Madeleine Stowe) who considers him to be insane. While struggling to convince the psychiatrist that he is not crazy, he forms a bond with Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt), the mad son of a famous virus expert (Christopher Plummer), and tries to unravel the mystery of the epidemic. |

Simon (Jeremy Irons), the terrorist, wants to wreak vengeance on John involving him into the dangerous game when body count rapidly increases and McClein should save New York: Simon's cat-and-mouse game compels the cop to make difficult decisions, but nevertheless he should act really fast. Police is searching for terrorists when the genuine aim of the gang emerges... It will be a very, very hard day for our hero, because John McTiernan is the director known well by the tough action movies and their high budget.

One of the most successful roles of Johnny Depp is William Blake, a young accountant who arrived at the distant town to work at the doubtful manufacture having a one way ticket. At the very first evening he gets into a very disagreeable, Wild-West-style story, and now he has to go into hiding, being hunted down by three cutthroats who have the only purpose - to kill him and then to deliver to the powerful manufacture owner. Being on the run, he suddenly meets the strange Indian who call himself Nobody and offers William his help. This rather surrealistic, black-and-white metaphoric movie is very stylish and intricate at some points, but a severely DEPPressive one as the theme of the last journey of any human seems to be one of the main counterpoints of the picture. Also starring are Iggy Pop, Crispin Glover, Billy Bob Thornton and Lance Henricksen.

After a waterfront explosion, Verbal (Kevin Spacey), an eye-witness and participant tells the story of events leading up to the conflagration. The story begins when five men are rounded up for a line-up, and grilled about a truck hijacking (the usual suspects). Least pleased is Keaton (Gabriel Byrne) a crooked cop - exposed, indicted, but now desperately trying to go straight. The cops won't leave him alone, however, and as they wait for their lawyers to post bail, he is talked into doing one more job with the other four. All goes tolerably well until the influence of the legendary, seemingly omnipotent "Keyser Soze" is felt. Although set in the modern day, it has much of the texture of the forties, plus suspense, intrigue (a fairly high body count), and lots of twists in the plot. |

The movie begins in the small town of Elerslie, Scotland. William lives with his father, who is not named in the film, and his older brother Malcolm. William's father and older brother are called to a meeting a few miles from their home where they find the entire nobility of Scotland hanging. Malcolm and his father then go to a battle between the British and their clan, both die tragically. At the funeral William meets his uncle Argyle who fought in the battle with Malcolm and his father. He takes him away to live with him. The scene then cuts to an adult William on his horse. William later runs into a girl he knew before he went to live with Argyle, her name, Murron, we discover that Lords have the right to sleep with brides on their wedding night, so William marries Murron in secret. Murron is the assaulted by a British guard, the guard is killed by William, a fight ensues, and eventually Murron is killed by the lord. This enrages Wallace who then build himself a fine army entering city's and killing all Englishman within. Wallace prepares to move on to Sterling where he prepared for his greatest battle yet, in the forest he realises that he must find a way to beat the heavy cavalry from the ground, he decided to create spears twice as long as men. These were used in the battle to kill the entire heavy cavalry raised at the last minute to kill the on coming horses. Eventually Wallace reaches York, the most important military city he gains control. Williams final battle at Falkirk ends in his betrayal by two nobles, whom he later kills. William is betrayed by the leper father of Robert the Bruce, is captured and refuses to bow down as a loyal subject of the king Edward I, Longshanks. Therefore, instead of mere beheading William Wallace is subject to being Hung, hung within an inch of death. Drawn, being stretched by his ankles and wrists and then having his insides shown to him before he died. Then Quartered, he was beheaded and his head was put on the London Bridge his body was torn into for pieces one sent to each corner of Britain as a warning to the citizens. After Wallace's death we see Robert the Bruce led the battle of Bannockburn the last battle for Scotland's freedom. |

They are complete opposites: one of them is a family man, and other is a bachelor who takes all occasions of such a free life: wealth, girls, cars... But these two guys (Martin Lawrence and Will Smith) are working together, they are policemen and should discover the way of stolen drugs. These dangerous meds are stolen from the police office and cost a round sum of 100 million bucks. Soon they find out that the man who had steel these drugs is none other then Cheki Kario's character whose band is one of the most dangerous and consists of the most unabashed guys. One of them gets killed by criminal colleagues which also begin to hunt down the only witness of the murder - a pretty call-girl Julie (Tea Leoni) whom our positive heroes begin to defend. Our guys - the bachelor and the family man - should trade places to succeed: to save the seductive witness and to catch the offenders.

Nikki Santoro (Joe Pecsi) is to accompany him during his doubtful work, being a bodyguard of Ace (more to say, they are childhood friends). This film depicts the most interesting period in the Las Vegas history along with the dangerous relations "ace" had with Ginger, a prostite who is played by stunning beauty Sharon Stone. Violence and brutality are not given here as a crime: it seems to be only an unpleasant, but necessary part of the dirty and bloody gambling business. This movie is based on the real events and on the book by Nicholas Pileggi which encloses an adaptation of the real entries of judgement which was held in Cansas-City when the Las Vegas' mafia bosses was convicted there.

A virus similar to Ebola & Lassa is discovered in Africa in 1969. 25 years later, it resurfaces - and Col. Sam Daniels of the U.S. Army is sent in to investigate it. When he returns he warns his boss, Brigadier-Gen. Ford, of the lethal nature of the virus and wants to put out an alert. Ford, who had been one of the men who first dealt with the virus, insists the virus is contained and unlikely to show up in the U.S. What neither man knows is that the host - a monkey - has been brought into the U.S. by freighter. Through an under-the-table bribe, a young man gets the monkey out of the animal-testing lab it was bound for. Soon, the man is infected - and Col. Daniels' ex-wife, Dr. Keough - now with the CDC - is called into Boston when the young man is brought to a hospital in critical condition. Dr. Keough discovers that the man has died from the virus, and at the same time - on the other side of the country - a new outbreak is starting in a little California town. A quarantine is set up to stop the virus from spreading, while Ford's boss, the sinister Major-Gen. McClintock, has his own agenda in mind - to harness this lethal bug for use as a bioweapon. With the President about to order a fuel-air bomb to be dropped on the little town to stop the outbreak, Daniels must find a way to unravel McClintock's sinister plan... |
