The wife of Police Sergeant Dutch Van Den Broek and the husband of politician Kay Chandler are killed in a plane crash. Now Dutch discovers some anomalies in what he told her before she left and discovers that she and Chandler's husband were travelling together. Dutch then goes to Chandler and tells her that he suspects that they were having an affair. He tells her that he wants to know the truth; she tells him that she doesn't but she later joins him and they grow close.
When beautiful and kind-hearted Amanda Shelton (Sarah Michelle Gellar) inherited a small restaurant from her late mother, she has a hard time as she lacked her mother's ability to cook. She would have had to close down the restaurant if she hadn't met a mysterious cabman, Gene O'Reilly (Christopher Durang), who unexpectedly gave her magical help with her cooking. While buying food for her restaurant, Amanda had a chance encounter with Tom Bartlett (Sean Patrick Flanery), a handsome and successful businessman whose relationship with his new girlfriend was in a crisis as she became too demanding. Tom and his girlfriend visited Amanda's restaurant in that very evening. The crab cooked by Amanda was finger-licking good and Tom immediately fell under her spells. His girlfriend, who ordered roast chicken, picked a quarrel with him and broke a lot of dishes. Delighted with the delicious meal, Tom gave Amanda his business card and promised to pay for the broken dishes. Afterwards they began a bubbly romance...
The comedy drama comprises two interweaving stories, all taking place in Alabama in 1965. The first story follows a glamorous, ambitious and eccentric housewife, Lucille Vincent (Melanie Griffith), who decides to put a stop to her husband's continual abuse and kills him by chopping off his head. With her husband's head in a hat box, she takes her seven kids to her brother's place and heads for the bright lights of Hollywood, where she is determined to achieve television stardom. Lucille reaches Los Angeles with a series of adventures and is offered to act in a movie. When the box with the head inside eventually falls into the hands of two policemen, Lucille gets arrested and escorted back to Alabama for her trial. The second story is narrated by Peejoe (Lucas Black), Lucille's 12-year-old nephew, an honest boy with a keen sense of justice who becomes involved in the racial strife. He raises an accusation against a corrupt sheriff who murdered a small black boy, Taylor Jackson (Miller), who dared to take a swim in the town's municipal swimming pool. The two story lines are joined at the trial.

This brilliant satirical comedy follows Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston), an ordinary IT worker who is fed up with his mediocre life and his boring job at a software company plagued by excessive management. Stressed and burnt-out, Peter is forced by his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend Anne (Alexandra Wentworth) to visit an occupational hypnotherapist. Dr. Swanson (Mike McShane) puts Peter into a state of complete relaxation and unexpectedly kicks the bucket before he can snap him out of his hypnotic state. The half-hypnotized Peter begins to enjoy life for the first time in a very long time, blowing off his job and dating a sexy waitress named Joanna (Jennifer Aniston). But, curiously enough, instead of firing him, the company gives him a promotion. When he discovers that his best friends Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) are laid off instead, Peter induces them to exact revenge on the callous employer by planting a computer virus that will send fractions of pennies from the company's transactions into their own bank account.

Dean Corso, a somewhat sleazy rare book dealer, is hired by a mysterious patron who has just come into possession of one of the only three copies of The Nine Gates of the Kingdom of Shadows (a 17th century occult text said to give its owner unimaginable power). The man hires Corso to track down the other two copies and compare them to his, but complications - both natural and supernatural - arise at every turn.
Fact-based story about Ira Einhorn (Kevin Anderson), a 70's peace-nik who is generally credited as one of the founders of Earth Day. In the late 60's and early 70's, Ira lived with Holly Maddux (Naomi Watts). But when she tries to leave him in 1977, she suddenly disappears. Later her body is discovered in a trunk in Einhorn's apartment. Let out on bail, Einhorn flees from the country and manages to elude authorities for years. Meanwhile he is convicted in absentia and sentenced to prison. Holly's father (Tom Skerritt) is determined to see his daughter's murderer brought to justice and has him tracked and is eventually caught in France in 1997. Martin Donovan appears as the assistant D.A. who put the case together. Today, Einhorn is now appealing his conviction.

It begins with an abstract battle of light and darkness set to the music of Beethoveen's Fifth Symphony. Then we see the adventures of a Humpback Whale calf and his pod set to "The Pines of Rome." Next is the humourous story of several lives in 1930's New York City, scored with "Rhapsody in Blue." Following is a musical telling of the fairy tale, "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" set to Dmitri Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2. Then a goofy Flamingo causes havoc in his flock with his yo-yo to the tune of the finale of "Carnival of the Animals." This is followed by the classic sequence from the original film, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" starring Mickey Mouse and followed by "Pomp and Circumstance" starring Donald Duck as a harried assistant to Noah on his Ark. Finally, we see the awesome tale of the life, death and renewal of a forest in a sequence featuring the composition, "The Firebird."

The result would have been expulsion, so the trio of teenagers attempt to regain Leigh Ann's innocence by reasoning with Mrs. Tingle. When their attempt fails, they attack Mrs. Tingle and tie her to her bed. Is there a possible way to prove Leigh Ann innocent?

And now for the first time ever Elmo musters all of his determination and courage and heads off on an action-packed rescue mission that plunges him into Grouch land-a place full of grouchy creatures, stinky garbage and the villainous man alive named Huxley. He asked a kind girl named Grizzy to help Elmo get back his blanket. Grizzy decided she wanted to stop helping because Huxley's house is on the top of Mount Pickanose which is far, far away. Elmo is now on his own. All the people from Sesame Street come to Grouchland to get Elmo back.

Next is "A Very Goofy Christmas", in which Goofy tries to overcome his son's skepticism about Santa Claus. Finally, "Mickey & Minnie's Gift Of The Magi" recreate the classic tale of ironic Christmas selflessness. The stories are linked together by narration by 'Kelsey Grammer' (qv).
