A group of social rejects enters a dodgeball tournament in Las Vegas against an all-star team led by Ben Stiller's character after their neighborhood "Average Joe's" gymnasium is threatened with a corporate takeover. White Goodman (Ben Stiller), a gleaming sports and fitness palace owner sends in attorney Kate Veach (Christine Taylor) to finalize the deal. An underachiever Peter La Fleur (Vince Vaughn) owns that run-down gymnasium which has a clientele to be ashamed of; if he won't pay $50,000 as a mortgage payment, it will be impossible to save the gym. Peter and his friends put themselves into trying to win a high-stakes dodgeball tournament. Meanwhile, unfortunately for the sports tycoon, Peter's charms win his attorney Kate over and she helps him try to beat the odds and save the gym.

But they come to a stop by Hector, Prince of Troy. The whole movie shows their battle struggles, and the foreshadowing of fate in this remake by Wolfgang Petersen of Homer's "The Iliad."

During their adventurous trip the pair has various points to stop at, situated in France (Paris, of course!), Turkey, India, China and the United States. Femme fatale Monique and a suspecting detective are also involved in the story. Soon after the pair left London, a major bank was robbed and Phileas and Passportout are considered as the main suspects trying to escape.

This is the story of a guy, Joel, who discovers that his long-time girlfriend, Clementine, has undergone a psychiatrist's experimental procedure in which all of her memory of Joel is removed, after the couple has tried for years to get their relationship working fluidly. Frustrated by the idea of still being in love with a woman who doesn't remember their time together, Joel agrees to undergo the procedure as well, to erase his memories of Clementine. The film, which takes place mostly within Joel's mind, follows his memories of Clementine backwards in time as each recent memory is replaced, and the procedure then goes on to the previous one, which is likewise seen, and then erased. Once the process starts, however, Joel realizes he doesn't really want to forget Clementine, so he starts smuggling her away into parts of his memory where she doesn't belong which alters other things about his memories as well...

But while investigating, they find out that the church was built to protect the area against an evil force, which has been buried long ago and eventually released along the excavations.
