Having spent the last three days watching crappy B grade horror films, to catch up on his website movie reviews, Charles (Simon Wallace) attempts to attend his first day of Summer School. Charges of blasphemy were dropped, "because it's not 1508", but Lee's life was turned upside down. With unflinching reflections on "a bit of a difficult year" allied to almost supernatural stagecraft, this set is high art in comparison with most stand-up. Especially Pasquale's'.

While he's deep undercover in New York, DEA agent Shane Tanner, the son of a legendary cooler named Dalton, learns that his uncle Nate Tanner got beat up by a group of men because he doesn't want to sell the Black Pelican, his bar in Tyree, Louisiana. Wild Bill wants to buy the Black Pelican since it's located in a prime location for running drugs. The Black Pelican is close to the border, it's between Florida and Texas, and it's in an area where drugs can be smuggled pretty much undetected. But Shane doesn't want to sell, and damages the numerous thugs that Bill sends his way. Also, Dalton was murdered years ago, and Shane still wonders who killed Dalton. When Shane was a rookie state trooper in Tyree, Shane had come home from work one night, and found Dalton fatally shot. After that, Shane left town and became a DEA agent. Now, Wild Bill's boss, Miami crime syndicate kingpin Victor Crost, decides that it's time to handle matters personally, because Wild Bill's men are not doing a good job of it. Shane is soon faced with impossible odds and a low number of staff members at the Black Pelican. To rid Louisiana of Victor, Wild Bill, and their organization, Shane teams up with local school teacher Beau Hampton, who is a regular at the Black Pelican.

Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, the eighth Pokémon movie, ranks as one of the best features in this popular franchise. Director Kunihiko Yuyama and writer Hideki Sonoda sensibly keep the adventures and threats to a scale that's appropriate for the characters. (The first movies put the world at risk, and while Ash Ketchum is a good kid, he's not someone who can credibly save the planet.) Ash, Brock, Max, and May journey to Cameron Palace for a tournament that celebrates the valor of Prince Aaron, who saved the realm from destruction 1,000 years ago. Ash and Pikachu win, but the mischievous Mew kidnaps Pikachu, whom he's befriended. Prince Aaron's Pokémon companion Lucario awakens from the victor's staff to lead Ash and the gang to the Tree of Beginning, a mountain that is also a living entity. Ash risks his life to rescue Pikachu, proving the depth of their friendship to Lucario. The film includes lots of CG effects, most of which work well with the drawn animation: the earlier Pokémon films tended to look like two different movies spliced together.

Can bad people be rehabilitated, or are some people just inherently bad? Should a person follow his head or his heart? Young Marty Preston (Jason Dolley) wrestles with these issues when dealing with his surly neighbor Judd Travers (Scott Wilson): a man that the entire community distrusts and who once seriously abused Marty's dog Shiloh. Etiquette requires that Marty be civil and even neighborly with Judd, but Shiloh refuses to even cross the bridge to Judd's property. When Judd has an automobile accident while driving drunk and then a dead body shows up in the woods, rumors run wild in town and Judd becomes the townsfolk's prime murder suspect. Even while Marty and his friend launch their own private investigation of Judd, Marty considers whether Judd may have really changed for the better and his compassion for Judd's chained dogs leads him to offer to help set up a fence at Judd's place. Judd and Marty become almost friendly with one another, but the results of the boys' investigation combined with a freak accident involving Marty's sister will ultimately test Marty's newfound faith in his neighbor to the extreme. Young audience members will find this sequel to Shiloh less disturbing than the original thanks to a toning down of both Judd's attitude and his abusive behavior toward his dogs.
