This compelling psychological thriller centers upon a flagrant case of abduction in a small American town. One day Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan), a high school student with a desire to be a writer, is kidnapped and severely tortured by an atrocious serial killer. Two weeks later, the girl, dismembered of her hand and leg, miraculously manages to escape from the clutches of the monster of cruelty. After recovering consciousness, the traumatized girl claims to be a stripper named Dakota Moss (Lindsay Lohan), a character that she created in her story for a school assignment. "Dakota" insists that the real Aubrey is still alive but her life is hanging by a hair and that any delay may be fatal. |

Tom plans to surprise Sara with an engagement ring, and he's asked his four best friends to witness the popping of the question at his place on Valentine's night. Trouble is Sara's left him a "Dear John" letter and will be by soon for her suitcases; plus, thinking it's a party, Tom's friend Sal has invited five women who were at his bar to come too. First the men talk - about women, sex, love, and homophobia (Tom's pals include a happily married guy, a gay man newly engaged, a metrosexual, and Sal, an inveterate player). In a modern retelling of Tod Browning's "Freaks" (1932), "Freakshow" tells the story of a group of criminals who chose to hide out by working security at a traveling circus. At first, they plot with an insider to steal the ticket sales, but the wily Lucy has bigger plans. She convinces the gang to let her seduce and marry the aging circus owner, Lon, in order to secure the entire circus fortune after he "suffers an accident". "People die all the time," Lucy says. The freaks are on to their scheme, however, and when the youngest of them is caught by the ruthless gang, they show no mercy to ensure her silence. When the circus folk find the child's remains, they swear vengeance, and no one is safe from their fury—least of all, the wily Lucy. |
